    Volunteer Support Worker, Child Contact Centre
  • About the Volunteer Role

    Our Child Contact Centre supports children and their parents/guardians/relatives in child-centred and safe contact arrangements following the breakdown of family relationships.

    In this role you will be:

    • Greeting and welcoming parents and children attending the centre and providing reassurance
    • Engaging with children if staff needed to speak with their parent or guardian about adult matters
    • Supporting the lead contact worker with assisted contact sessions and interactions between parents and children
    • Preparing contact rooms with appropriate toys and equipment prior to the sessions include covid measures for safe and hygienic play

    You will need some experience of working with children and their families to undertake this role. This role is idea for anyone studying in the area of children, health or social care and who is passionate and committed to supporting children and their families. DBS check and references will be required in line with our safeguarding procedures.

    Base: Yorkshire Children's Centre, Brian Jackson House, New North Road, Huddersfield HD1 5JP.
    Days: Saturdays (The Contact Centre is open 9am - 5pm but the role is flexible so you can volunteer for half a day or once a month etc. )
