Tourist Information Volunteer

Kirklees Libraries are increasing reading and literacy, improving digital access and literacy, supporting everyone to achieve their full potential, supporting everyone to live healthier and happier lives, enabling greater prosperity, building stronger more resilient communities, offering everyone access to culture and the opportunity to be creative. Volunteering opportunities are varied and include storytelling, supporting events, helping with crafts, gardening, running Lego and code clubs, admin role e.g. secretary, chair and planning rotas for Friends of groups and many more.     Tourist Information Volunteer
  • About the Volunteer Role
    In this role you will help our Tourist Information Centre by offering information, resources and advice for visitors and locals on our area. You will sell a range of souvenirs and gifts, provide the box-office service for Town Halls and The Lawrence Batley Theatre, and give advice on local accommodation. We are partners with both Visit Britain and Welcome to Yorkshire. In the library you may be: welcoming customers, signposting within these buildings and beyond and helping to promote local events and attractions. and maintaining the Tourist Information Centre's displays and resources. You may also be involved with promotion of the library service in the community and discussing and recording the impact that the library service makes on customers’ lives. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference , meet new people and gain new skills. If you would like to offer your time in another way but don’t see a suitable role please get in touch.
