Time Together / The Denby Dale Centre is an independent local charity, who aims to relieve isolation & loneliness and improve quality of life, for local people in Kirklees. We usually operate 20 anti-loneliness projects including a charity shop, community transport, social activity groups and dementia groups – across Kirklees, many of our projects have been adapted due to Covid-19. Find out more about us at www.ddc.org.uk , @DDCprojects on Facebook and @TimeTogether1 on Twitter, or come and chat with us at one of our bases. Our growing team of volunteers, work-placements, student-placements and employed staff – all benefit from direct support and training (both online and in person) plus expenses and social activities.

About the Volunteer Role
Make a real difference to local people by joining our team of caring Volunteer Car Drivers to help local people overcome their transport barriers. Many people in Kirklees are isolated and housebound due to a gap in suitable transport provision, now more than ever with Covid-19, this sometimes leads to loneliness and poor mental and physical health. Our team of own-car drivers help people get to essential appointments at present such as doctors appointments, hospital appointments and vaccinations. When restrictions are lifted they also help with visiting friends & family, shops, hair salons, sporting and social groups - greatly improving quality of life for that individual.
The driver requires their own car and claim 40p per mile for their expenses.
