MHA Communities is a local community project aimed at helping older people to maintain their independence, by providing them with a variety of services and support.
Volunteer Role TitleDigital Inclusion Champion
About the Volunteer Role
Our Volunteer digital inclusion champions help improve the quality of life for older people who are socially isolated and may feel lonely by encouraging our members to access the internet and guiding them through things like social media, online shopping and accessing Zoom for group activities. During the pandemic this will primarily be done online or over the phone and when the guidelines allow for it the digital inclusion champion will visit the members home to help them get set up on their device and provide in-person support.
Induction and training are provided - ideally you will be able to volunteer with us for a minimum of six months.
You will spend 1 to 2 hours with an older person on a weekly basis. This is a very rewarding role for anyone who has basic digital skills and can be patient and positive.
