Our vision is for a world in which children and young people no longer face life-shortening conditions. And until that day comes, our mission will always be to offer them, and their families, as much support, love and laughter as they can handle. And to add in our special ingredient: the magic of yes.
We’re also determined to transform the world of children’s hospices. We’re tearing up the old rule books, taking a fresh and creative look at the way things are done. We’re offering new services that have never been done before. We’re listening and responding to children and their families, rather than telling them what they can or can’t do because ‘that’s the way it’s always been’.
Only the best is good enough
The Care Quality Commission (CQC), which inspect hospices, rates us as ‘outstanding’. This puts us in the top 1% of all of the organisations they inspect. We’ll never stop working towards being the best we can be.
Volunteer Role TitleVolunteer Collection Tub Coordinator
About the Volunteer RoleWhat will I be doing? As part of our fundraising activities in West Yorkshire, we place collection tubs at local businesses and community organisations across the region. We’re looking for a volunteer to coordinate this for us by working alongside our fundraising team to make sure these collection tubs are placed in the right places and checked regularly. You’ll also help expand our collection tub activity so that we raise more vital funds to support our work with children and families. You will be required to keep accurate records of our collection tubs on our database, analyse success and target specific businesses accordingly. You will also build relationships with our collection tub volunteers across the region, manage the collection tub email inbox and devise and help to manage a corporate volunteer rota using regional data. Ideally, we are looking for volunteers who can donate between half a day/1 day per week, but this is flexible. A member of our fundraising team will show you the ropes and support you to get the most from your valuable time. This is an ideal volunteering opportunity for anyone who enjoys speaking to people, has good communication skills and is confident in their computer skills, particularly with analysing data and using Excel. All our volunteers are encouraged to attend training and volunteer meetings whenever possible. As a volunteer, you will be a representative of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and as such we expect you to be well presented, polite and to give a positive message about the work of the charity.
