Kirklees Visual Impairment Network is a user-led organisation run by and for people with Visual Impairments (VIs). We want to be able to enrich visually impaired people’s lives through enabling them to use products and technology (equipment, software and apps) that can help them be as independent as possible and enjoy life to the full. We run drop-in peer support sessions in Huddersfield and Dewsbury to support people to know what technology may benefit them and train them to use them.

  • About the Volunteer Role
    The Board of Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of Kirklees Visual Impairment Network (KVIN). The Board are accountable to a range of stakeholders including service users, funders, the Charities Commission and Companies House. We are particularly looking to recruit Trustees with expertise in HR, Finance and Law. The main duties shared between the board of Trustees are: Ensuring KVIN complies with legislative and regulatory requirements, maintaining sound financial management, promoting the work of KVIN, recruiting and monitoring paid staff. We are looking for Trustees with leadership skills and professional experience or lived experience of Visual Impairments. This is a great opportunity to develop yourself professionally and can be a very rewarding experience, sharing your skills to benefit those with visual impairments in the local area. KVIN is based in Brian Jackson House, North Parade, Huddersfield HD1 5JP
