IT Support Volunteer (Huddersfield)

Kirklees Visual Impairment Network is a user-led organisation run by and for people with Visual Impairments (VIs). We want to be able to enrich visually impaired people’s lives through enabling them to use products and technology (equipment, software and apps) that can help them be as independent as possible and enjoy life to the full. We run drop-in peer support sessions in Huddersfield and Dewsbury to support people to know what technology may benefit them and train them to use them.

  • About the Volunteer Role
    We need people with IT knowledge to help run our drop-in peer support sessions in Huddersfield. You will help with setting up and maintaining and updating equipment such as laptops, tablets and phones. You will be working alongside volunteers with visual impairments and be given an opportunity to learn about the technology available for people living with visual impairments. We run friendly and informal drop in sessions where we welcome everyone and try to meet their needs to live independent lives. The Huddersfield drop in sessions take place at Kirklees Visual Impairment Network, LG12, Brian Jackson House, 2 New North Parade, Huddersfield, HD1 5JP. Every Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, 10am until 4pm. We offer a flexible approach to volunteering.
