Community Engagement Assistant

Batley Sporting Charitable Trust works in partnership with Batley Bulldogs RLFC, the type of work we do in the community is not just limited to rugby but all kinds of sport and other activities, we also run sessions and have partnerships with other community groups and some of our work includes:

  • PE sessions, lunchtime and after schools clubs
  • Mission Active
  • Holiday Clubs
  • Community events & projects
  • Community Gym
  • Walking Rugby

Our aims & Objectives are:

  • Enhance the local community and surrounding areas
    Achieve a common vision with local residents, community leaders and community groups
    Encourage a sense of belonging and raise pride in locality
    Engage with community members to develop positive relationships

  • To create a safe and neutral discussion space accessible to all
    To bring people together from all ages and backgrounds to work together on community led projects
    To improve tolerance and raise awareness of others from all backgrounds
    To use sport to promote health & wellbeing for all

  • About the Volunteer Role
    This is a very varied role, the kinds of things you would be doing as a volunteer could be: Helping to plan and organise projects, getting involved in steering groups, helping out at holiday camp and assisting the coaches with Mission Active. You may also be helping out with events at the ground, on matchdays with Fanzone and half time/pre-match activities as well as other sessions and events in the community. You may also get involved with our fundraising activities The hours could be any time during the week, weekend school holidays and the extent of your involvement in the above is up to you. You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check that will be provided by the trust, we would also expect the online Kirklees Safeguarding course to be completed.
