About this opportunity
Would you like to work with under 10s around the Colne Valley, with excursions further afield, building children’s self-confidence and helping them to explore the big issues affecting the world? Woodcraft Folk (Colne Valley) are seeking people who share their values of inclusion, cooperation, peace and social justice to get involved with their group. By joining their group as a leader or assistant you will have the opportunity to grow your skills and knowledge, with full training and support – and have fun at the same time!
About the organisation
Woodcraft Folk is a movement for children and young people, open to everyone from birth to adult. They offer a place where children will grow in confidence, learn about the world and start to understand how to value our planet and each other. Their Colne Valley group is currently aimed at younger children aged 2-7 approx
What are they looking for?
Essential: – Enthusiasm and a commitment to the group’s core values
– Interest in joining Woodcraft Folk (they may be able offer financial support with this)
– Willingness to undertake a DBS check after a trial period of volunteering
– A sense of humour!
Desirable: – Experience working with pre-school and primary aged children
– Experience of planning and leading learning opportunities to the above
– Experience of taking part in or leading out of door/environmental activities
Date and details
Sessions are run on Saturday mornings.
They would ask for a minimum of 1 hour per session with ideally 6-monthth commitment.
Training and on-going support will be provided.
They will require references and a DBS check.
