Talk English Friends Training

Volunteer as a Talk English Friend and help people learn English and get more involved in your community.
They’re looking for enthusiastic, committed volunteers who want to make a real difference to people’s lives and provide support to people with little or no English to help them improve their English skills, access services and get more involved in their community.

As a Talk English Friend, you will be matched with people with little or no English who you will meet with regularly to practice English in local libraries nd community venues each week.

To prepare you for your role, you will receive information and free training about being a Talk English friend. To be a Talk English Friend you will need to be able to demonstrate good skills in spoken and written English at Level 1 and good computer skills. You will also need a few hours spare every week to meet up with your Talk English Friends. You will also be able to access their Talk English Activities and website and be a part of the network.

This is a great opportunity for you to gain experience and develop new skills while making a difference to people’s lives. You’ll get to meet people from all over the world, learn about other cultures and be part of a really exciting project.
