Kirklees Council are seeking a Voluntary Co-optee to attend the Council Scrutiny Panel Meetings. These monthly meetings are where decisions and policies made by the Council and key partners including local health providers are scrutinised.
This role is ideal for anyone with a keen interest in local matters who can listen with an open mind to the points of views of others.
Suitable for over 18s who are not a current or recent employee of Kirklees Council. Meetings take place during the day, approx half a day per month.

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice use eBay as an extra outlet for goods donated to their charity shop. They are looking for a volunteer who can spare about half a day a week to list items on eBay including researching prices, photographing goods and packing sold items.

What: Volunteer Events Organiser (1 or more people)
When: as needed
Where: working from home with occasional meetings in Huddersfield/Halifax and events in Kirklees & Calderdale
KIMESG are looking for self-motivated and pro-active people who can join their small and friendly team to help the committee organise events in Kirklees and Calderdale. They will generally know what they want to do, but would like someone else to use their own creativity and initiative to research the options and make it happen. They are happy for the role to be shared by more than one volunteer if necessary. The volunteer or volunteers can work from home, but may occasionally need to meet up with committee members in central Huddersfield or Halifax, and potentially attend events to welcome people, co-ordinate things and make sure that everything runs smoothly.
Tasks may involve:
- researching venues
- presenting options and costs
- organising speakers
- compliance with any legal, insurance and health and safety arrangements
- coming up with creative ideas
Training and travel expenses will be given.
KIMESG is a local support group for people with ME and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and their carers. It is run by volunteers, most of whom, themselves suffer from ME, which limits what they can do on a day to day basis. However, they are passionate about helping people with this isolating illness.

Holmfirth Tech are looking for Volunteers to support the running of the Tech (the former Adult Education building) in Holmfirth where they host a range of arts, music and wellbeing activities for local groups.
They are particularly looking for a Social Media Volunteer, Administration Volunteer and Catering Volunteer (for their café) . Training and support are provided and the opportunity to be part of busy and vibrant community resource.
