Support & Therapy Horticultural Volunteer

About this opportunityKirkwood Hospice Logo

A volunteer is required to run their ‘Grow Group’ which supports and enables patients who have an interest in horticulture, that are unable to enjoy this interest due to their illness. The project is aimed at any patients who wish to share their knowledge and expertise or patients who want to join in and enjoy the positive experience.
The role will require the volunteer to discuss and make an appropriate plan, with Support and Therapy Sister, a member of the therapist’s team and the activity support worker for the group to work towards for the coming year. The volunteer will be expected to set up and clear away equipment used for any of the Grow Group sessions, and work closely alongside permanent staff whilst supporting patients within the group.
