Help keep sporting and community facilities funded

Parkgate Sports & Community Trust require the assistance of 2 volunteers with fundraising experience. It would particularly helpful to have experience in dealings with a wide range of funding bodies especially to gain sports funding.

About the organisation

Parkgate Sports & Community trust, through the Dearne Valley Sports Village project, aim to provide sporting and community facilities on 23 acre’s of land leased from Kirklees Council. These to include two all-weather floodlit sports pitches, plus a all-weather floodlit MUGA(Multi Use Games Area) training pitch and a Sports and Community Barn, which will include a two storey facility, with a ground floor sports & training area, complete with changing facilities. The upper floor is to be a community area with kitchen and bar area. The purpose, needs and benefits of the DVSV is to provide, for the Upper Dearne Valley and surrounding areas a sports, leisure, environmental, community and well-being complex, accessible to all people of all abilities, ages, backgrounds and needs.

What are they looking for?

Essential skills would be – to be personable; good at communicating as both written and spoken; working well in a team as well as independently; good presentation skills; experienced in dealing with funding bodies of all sizes.

Date and details

We would require a minimum commitment of 3 hours per session over approx a 3 to 6 month period.
The offices are open Monday to Wednesday, based in Skelmanthorpe.
No expenses can be paid..
An induction period would be given as well as training and support.
