Singing, making, mending and music.
Enjoy singing? Like to help a new singing group get going? Singing with other people is fun, but it’s also good for your health. A group of people who are blind or have difficulty seeing would like to start a daytime singing group in Batley and they’d love some support. The group will be based at the Whitfield Centre on Tues, Weds or Thurs. Contact: ChristineR@northkirkleesblind.org.uk
Like fixing things? A local charity needs help repairing bikes and renovating hand and electrical tools so they can be shipped to (and reused in) countries in Africa. They also need a hand in their warehouse. More info at www.cartyorkshire.co.uk
Join the creative crew – getting a chance to create really helps everyone’s mental health. You could help to make one of Hoot’s Creative Pie events happen. They are a chance for local people to show their creative work in a celebratory, supportive atmosphere. Hoot needs volunteers who can offer Tech support (eg sound and light), be stewards, take photos, help with publicity and look after front of house skills. Most of all they want enthusiasm and would love to hear from you. Click here to read more about Creative Pie . The dates for the Pies (?) are 30 Jan, 28 Feb, 20 March and 16 April. Get in touch as soon as possible with Hoot to find out how you can help 01484 516224 or 07880 731 767 or firstname.lastname@example.org
