Trans Pennine Trail

Wednesday 10th January 2018  10am – 4pm

Workday Support: Dave Sanderson

Where: The Magic Wood 🌲

Meet: On the Trail at Hazlehead Bridge Station

Click here for a map of the site and where to meet/park.

What will we be doing? Removing Christmas decorations and carrying out any necessary maintenance work; removing one or two saplings. Transferring to Penistone adjacent Julie’s Cafe to prune Goat Willow and other minor vegetation glitches; may then move into the cafe to save on firewood.

Parking: Please arrive on foot or by bike if you can. If you need to come in your car and haven’t been before please get in touch for advice re parking. If you’d like a lift from Penistone, leaving around 9.40am, please email/ring.

You’ll need to wear…Warm old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or torn, sturdy warm footwear and warm gloves – waterproof if it’s wet -to protect your hands.

Do bring… A warm packed lunch – we’ll provide hot tea, coffee, fruit juice and biscuits in the morning – and possibly the afternoon. We do have tools and equipment, but you’re welcome to bring your own (in good condition) if you prefer. Don’t forget the warm waterproofs!

If you have any questions: have a look at FAQ on the website (www.TPTcv.co.uk); send me an email, or you’re welcome to ring me on 07704333445/01484 865852.

Newcomers…

Are always welcome. No experience necessary; familiarity with Yorkshire Banter definitely helpful. If you can only stay for a couple of hours that’s no problem, and there’s no need to tell us you’re coming, just choose a nice day/task and turn up!
