The Ruddi’s Retreat Cafe is a not for profit organisation that serves quality homemade food, treats and cakes.
They put all the money that they take in the straight back into their Children’s Cancer charity.
They would love two volunteers, split over two days: Tuesday & Thursday 11am – 3pm.
The role will entail serving customers, handling money, making drinks, cleaning general areas and helping out where relevant and necessary.
About the organisation
Ruddi’s Retreat provide holidays for children who have life-shortening illnesses and/or have suffered a bereavement. They have purchased 2 caravans to provide these holidays so they need to raise the money for the annual running costs. They would also like to buy a ‘lodge’ to offer fro holidays.
*Ruddi’s Retreat have successfully achieved the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award (an award that recognises their commitment to providing volunteers with a high-quality positive experience).
What are they looking for?
Team player, polite, good work ethic, desire to learn new skills, sensible, professional.
Food Hygiene Certificate would be useful but is not essential.
Coffee machine (Barista) knowledge would be good, but is relatively easy to learn, so, again, not essential. Baking knowledge would be an added bonus.
Overall, just generally nice, positive outlook.
Date and details
They would prefer volunteers to give at least 4 hours per week and with a view to a long term commitment.
Travel expenses and meals are available.
Induction and on the job training and support.
The cafe is open on every day.
They are on a direct bus route out of Huddersfield and there are busses approx every 10 mins.
