Could You Organise Events from Home?

What: Volunteer Events Organiser (1 or more people)

When: as needed

Where: working from home with occasional meetings in Huddersfield/Halifax and events in Kirklees & Calderdale

KIMESG are looking for self-motivated and pro-active people who can join their small and friendly team to help the committee organise events in Kirklees and Calderdale.  They will generally know what they want to do, but would like someone else to use their own creativity and initiative to research the options and make it happen.  They are happy for the role to be shared by more than one volunteer if necessary.  The volunteer or volunteers can work from home, but may occasionally need to meet up with committee members in central Huddersfield or Halifax, and potentially attend events to welcome people, co-ordinate things and make sure that everything runs smoothly.

Tasks may involve:

  • researching venues
  • presenting options and costs
  • planning
  • organising speakers
  • publicity
  • co-ordination
  • compliance with any legal, insurance and health and safety arrangements
  • coming up with creative ideas

Training and travel expenses will be given.

KIMESG is a local support group for people with ME and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and their carers. It is run by volunteers, most of whom, themselves suffer from ME, which limits what they can do on a day to day basis.  However, they are passionate about helping people with this isolating illness.
