Out and About… doing something about loneliness

Statistics show that many of us, whatever our age, often feel isolated or disconnected from people around us.

Loneliness has a huge impact on older people’s happiness and physical health. A survey in Kirklees showed that more that one in five of our older people say they feel lonely “some or most of the time”

Could we change that statistic together?

We believe the key to combating loneliness is to provide practical and friendly support that will help people to connect with the activites, people and places that can make them feel good.

Can you give some time to help deliver the right information and support to get those at risk of loneliness out and about?

If that’s a yes or you’d like to find out more please come along to one of our information days.
