Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice use eBay as an extra outlet for goods donated to their charity shop. They are looking for a volunteer who can spare about half a day a week to list items on eBay including researching prices, photographing goods and packing sold items.

Volunteering from home you will provide support via the phone, email or by instant messaging. Areas of support could be parenting, relationship breakdown, education, domestic abuse, financial hardship….

What: Volunteer Events Organiser (1 or more people)

Where: working from home with occasional meetings in Huddersfield/Halifax and events in Kirklees & Calderdale
KIMESG are looking for self-motivated and pro-active people who can join their small and friendly team to help the committee organise events in Kirklees and Calderdale. They will generally know what they want to do, but would like someone else to use their own creativity and initiative to research the options and make it happen. They are happy for the role to be shared by more than one volunteer if necessary. The volunteer or volunteers can work from home, but may occasionally need to meet up with committee members in central Huddersfield or Halifax, and potentially attend events to welcome people, co-ordinate things and make sure that everything runs smoothly.
Tasks may involve:
- researching venues
- presenting options and costs
- organising speakers
- compliance with any legal, insurance and health and safety arrangements
- coming up with creative ideas
Training and travel expenses will be given.
KIMESG is a local support group for people with ME and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and their carers. It is run by volunteers, most of whom, themselves suffer from ME, which limits what they can do on a day to day basis. However, they are passionate about helping people with this isolating illness.

What: DIY, Woodland Management, Gardening

When: weekly and monthly opportunities
Friends of Beaumont Park are always on the look-out for volunteers to help keep their beautiful park and Visitor Centre running and to help co-ordinate and staff the many community events that they put on. In particular at the moment they’d like people to help with DIY projects in the Visitor Centre and to join the woodland management and gardening groups who help maintain the park. This is a great opportunity to use skills and interests you already have, meet new people, work in fantastic surroundings, contribute to your local community and be part of a varied, active and welcoming Friends group.
