Ruddi’s Retreat have loads of one off volunteering sessions November/December where they need an extra pair of hands! Whether it’s singing in their choir, running a tombola or bag packing…they need you! …then these brand new roles may suit.  As a Virtual Befriender you will provide support to families at a time when they need it most. Volunteering from home you will provide support via the phone, email or by instant messaging. Areas of support could be parenting, relationship breakdown, education, domestic abuse, financial hardship….

Full training is provided and this role will be extremely rewarding for volunteers who may want to give something back or gain some new skills.

Are you good at describing things?

Volunteers who enjoy writing and describing items are needed to help raise vital funds for Kirkwood Hospice. Based in the busy Newsome shop you will use your creative words to help describe items that are being listed on E.Bay. You don’t need any specialist knowledge but of you have an interest in music, antiques, vintage stuff then this would be an added bonus. Could you be a digital champion?

A Volunteer Digital Champion is someone who supports family, friends, colleagues, customers or people in their community to enjoy all the benefits that basic digital skills can bring.
You could be helping someone in the library, at a GP’s surgery, in a business setting, someone’s home..
You can provide support either in a 1-1 session or if preferable a group setting.
Anyone can be a digital champion and full training will be provided. Full details here
