Kirklees Sport and Physical Activity Development Team help inactive people to become more active through Sport and  Physical Activity. They offer training to support volunteers in their local community. They are currently offering the following free training to Volunteers:

WALK LEADER TRAINING

MOVEMENT AND  GAMES IN A CHAIR (MAGIC ) TRAINING

Movement and Games in a Chair is aimed at people wanting to improve their mobility and memory.  Once you have completed the training you could lead or support one of the MAGIC classes which run in several fire stations or leisure centres across Kirklees. Holmfirth Tech seeking a range of Volunteers

Holmfirth Tech are looking for Volunteers to support the running of the Tech (the former Adult Education building) in Holmfirth where they host a range of arts, music and wellbeing activities for local groups.

They are particularly looking for a Social Media Volunteer, Administration Volunteer and Catering Volunteer (for their café) . Training and support are provided and the opportunity to be part of busy and vibrant community resource.

Interested in Mentoring and supporting Ex-Offenders?

St Giles Trust, West Yorkshire help ex-offenders and other marginalised members of the community to reach their potential. They are seeking Volunteer Mentors who can offer one hour a week or more to help their clients develop their confidence and self esteem. Could you make a difference to the life of an ex-prisoner?

West Yorkshire Community Chaplaincy Project are currently recruiting Volunteer Link Workers to help men who are being released from prison to integrate into the community.

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain extensive experience in the criminal justice, probation, social work, housing, drug and alcohol, law or support services. Closing date Tuesday 10th October.
